1. An apparatus comprising:
an imaging container attached to a fish enclosure, the imaging container arranged to allow for fish in the fish enclosure to swim against a current that is generated to flow through the imaging container, the imaging container comprising two or more fish imaging assemblies, each imaging assembly comprising:
a camera for generating images of fish that swim through the imaging container, and
a pair of lights including a light of a first color and a light of a second color each configured to illuminate the fish that swim through the imaging container; and
a control unit that synchronizes (i) generating a sequence of images using the camera in a first imaging assembly when the pair of lights in the first imaging assembly are not illuminated and when an alternating one of the pair of lights in a second imaging assembly is illuminated, and (ii) generating a sequence of images using the camera in the second imaging assembly when the pair of lights in the second imaging assembly are not illuminated and when an alternating one of the pair of lights in the first imaging assembly is illuminated.
