1. A surgical article comprising:
a composition having a desired shape and a mean grain size, said composition consisting essentially of by weight: WC present from 85 to 95 total weight percent; Cr3C2 and Mo2C each alone, or in combination being present from 0 to 2 total weight percent, and Ni constituting the remainder; the average grain size being between 200 and 800 nm with a particle dispersion index of between 0.02 and 0.6.
