1. A method of producing tri-hexylamine citrate, the method comprising:
dissolving an amount of citric acid in a solvent to produce a saturated solution of citric acid, wherein the solvent does not chemically react to citric acid or hexylamine and the citric acid and hexylamine are both soluble in the solvent; and
adding an amount of hexylamine to the saturated solution of citric acid to produce a mixture containing a precipitate, wherein the molar ratio of the amount of the hexylamine to the amount of citric acid is 3:1, wherein the amount of hexylamine is added drop by drop.
