1. A method, comprising:
obtaining from a server, by a first device, a first saliency model for the characterizing of captured images, wherein the first saliency model represents a global saliency model comprising a combination of two or more saliency models;
capturing a first plurality of images by the first device;
obtaining information indicative of a reaction of a first user of the first device to one or more images of the first plurality images captured by the first device;
updating the first saliency model based, at least in part, on the obtained information to form a personalized, second saliency model; and
transmitting at least a portion of the second saliency model to a second user of a second device for use in modifying at least one image captured by the second device.
