1. A method of cleaning a polymeric membrane comprising:
applying a composition comprising at least one amine oxide comprising lauryldimethylamine oxide and from about 10 ppm to about 300 ppm of at least one alkyl sulfate to the polymeric membrane, wherein the at least one alkyl sulfate comprises 2-ethylhexyl sulfate; and
rinsing the polymeric membrane to remove at least a majority of the composition from the polymeric membrane.
