1. A method of using a broach to create a cavity for receiving a bone implant, the method comprising:
inserting a broach into bone, the broach comprising
a distal end that comprises a plurality of cutting surfaces formed as teeth, each of which is disposed at an apex of the distal end and having a tip pointed distally to cut into bone, and
an elongate body portion extending proximally from the distal end, the elongate body portion comprising a longitudinal axis, exactly three faces, and exactly three apices each formed at the junction between adjacent faces;
cutting into the bone with the cutting surfaces and forming a bore for an implant;
removing the broach from the bone; and
positioning an implant within the bore.
