1. A system for monitoring a beehive colony population strength in a beehive contained within a space divisible into spatial portions adapted to contain portions of said beehive colony population, comprising:
a. a sensor adapted to generate sensor data;
b. a data communications and collection device to collect said sensor data; and
c. a processor to:
analyze said sensor data to determine a result indicating beehive population strength, said analysis comprising determining the number of the spatial portions within the space that are populated with bees; and
communicate a signal reporting the analyzed sensor data.
