(241)    Continuation of the Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) Pilot Program
        Between the United States Patent and Trademark Office and
               the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property

   On July 1, 2015, the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)
simplified the requirements and procedures for Patent Prosecution Highway
(PPH) program participation with the Mexican Institute of Industrial
Property (IMPI). See Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) Pilot Program between
the United States Patent and Trademark Office and the Mexican Institute of
Industrial Property, 1416 Off. Gaz. Pat. Office 200 (July 21, 2015). This
simplified PPH pilot program was scheduled to end on June 30, 2022. See
Continuation of the Patent Prosecution Highway Pilot Program between the
United States Patent and Trademark Office and the Mexican Institute of
Industrial Property, 1476 Off. Gaz. Pat. Office 56 (July 7, 2020).

   With a continued commitment to enhancing intellectual property
cooperation between their offices, the USPTO and the IMPI have agreed to
extend the pilot until June 30, 2027. Therefore, the USPTO will treat as
timely any PPH request based on IMPI work product filed in the USPTO on or
before June 30, 2027. In addition, the USPTO will treat as timely any PPH
request based on IMPI work product that was filed in the USPTO between
June 30, 2022, and the publication date of this notice.
