1. A method comprising:
detecting, by a first wireless peripheral device, a signal triggered by a user manipulation to switch from a first host to a second host, wherein the first wireless peripheral device and a second wireless peripheral device are part of a group of peripheral devices that are currently connected to the first host; and
in response to the detecting the signal, performing operations by the first wireless peripheral device, the operations including:
initiating a central role and listening for an advertising packet from the second wireless peripheral device;
disconnecting from the first host and re-connecting to the second host;
subsequent from disconnecting from the first host, transmitting to the second wireless peripheral device a request to switch to the second host from the first host;
receiving from the second wireless peripheral device a status of the switch from the first host to the second host, wherein the status is included in the advertising packet; and
when the status is a confirmation of the switch from the first host to the second host, then stopping the central role.
