1. A computer-implemented method for determining whether two sets of confidential electronic data are identical, comprising:
comparing, by a first computer system, a third set of data with a fourth set of data, the third set of data converted by a transformation from a first set of data, the fourth set of data converted by the transformation from a second set of data, the transformation rendering the first set of data unidentifiable from the third set of data and the second set of data unidentifiable from the fourth set of data, the first set of data comprising first identification information that identifies a first customer, the second set of data comprising second identification information that identifies a second customer; and
transmitting, from the first computer system to a second computer system, a message when the third set of data corresponds to the fourth set of data, the message indicating that the first customer is the same as the second customer.
