1. A lithium-ion secondary battery comprising:
a positive electrode comprising:
an active material particle comprising:
a first region comprising cobalt;
a second region comprising:
an outer portion of the active material particle; and
part of an inner portion of the active material particle;
a negative electrode;
a separator;
an electrolytic solution; and
an exterior body,
wherein the part of the inner portion is positioned in a crystal defect or a vicinity of the crystal defect,
wherein the outer portion comprises cobalt and magnesium,
wherein the part of the inner portion comprises magnesium and cobalt,
wherein the outer portion covers at least a part of the first region,
wherein the part of the first region comprises a layered rock-salt crystal structure,
wherein the outer portion comprises a rock-salt crystal structure,
wherein a crystal orientation of the part of the first region and a crystal orientation of the outer portion are substantially aligned with each other,
wherein, in electron energy loss spectroscopy of a first measurement region in the outer portion, the number of divalent cobalt atoms is larger than the number of cobalt atoms exhibiting other valences,
wherein the first measurement region is positioned at a depth of about 1 nm from a surface of the active material particle, and
wherein, in electron energy loss spectroscopy of a second measurement region in the part of the inner portion, the number of divalent cobalt atoms is larger than the number of cobalt atoms exhibiting other valences.
