1. A method of treating congestive heart failure of a subject in need thereof and having a peritoneal cavity and a bladder, the method comprising:
introducing an infusate comprising an osmotic agent into the peritoneal cavity from a reservoir to form a peritoneal fluid mixture, the reservoir connected to an implantable pump by a reservoir conduit; and
pumping, using the implantable pump comprising a gear-pump and a controller, the peritoneal fluid mixture from the peritoneal cavity into the bladder responsive to control of the gear-pump by the controller,
wherein the peritoneal fluid mixture comprises the infusate comprising the osmotic agent, and
wherein the method treats the congestive heart failure of the subject.
