1. A process for adjusting data from an A-Scan, comprising:
providing volt-versus-time signal data from an A-Scan;
converting the volt-versus-time signal data to volt-versus-distance signal data by applying an average sound speed;
identifying a specular surface in the volt-versus-distance signal data, wherein the specular surface divides a first non-specular region from a second non-specular region, and a first sound speed is associated with the first non-specular region and a second sound speed is associated with the second non-specular region, wherein the first sound speed and the second sound speed are distinct; and
converting the volt-versus-time signal data to adjusted volt-versus-distance signal data by applying the first sound speed in the first non-specular region and by applying the second sound speed in the second non-specular region.
