1. A medical imaging device, comprising:
an arm including a first end, a second end, and an arc-shaped curvature between the first end of the arm and the second end of the arm,
wherein the arm includes a track having a termination at the first end of the arm;
an x-ray detector fixed to the second end of the arm; and
an x-ray source slidably coupled to the track,
wherein the track limits a sliding range of the x-ray source along the arc-shaped curvature from a first position proximate the x-ray detector to a second position located a maximum distance along the arc-shaped curvature away from the x-ray detector,
wherein the second position is defined by the termination of the track at the first end of the arm,
wherein when the x-ray source is positioned at the second position at the first end of the arm, the x-ray source and the x-ray detector are aligned along an imaging axis, and
wherein when the x-ray source is aligned with the x-ray detector, the x-ray source is configured to be at a predetermined constant source-to-image receptor distance (SID) from the x-ray detector.
