A method for generating a one-to-one mapping of a plurality of Red-Green-Blue (RGB) fiducials in a RGB image to a plurality of thermal fiducials in a thermal image such that the mapping accounts for one or more distortions of the RGB image, one or more distortions of the thermal image, or a combination thereof, wherein the plurality of RGB fiducials are uniformly distributed across an area of the RGB image, wherein the plurality of thermal fiducials are uniformly distributed across an area of the thermal image.
