1. An image forming apparatus comprising:
a transfer unit configured to convey a sheet while nipping the sheet, and transfer a toner image on the sheet;
a fixing unit configured to convey the sheet while nipping the sheet, and fix the toner image transferred by the transfer unit to the sheet;
a detection unit disposed between the transfer unit and the fixing unit in a sheet conveyance direction and configured to detect the amount of deflection in the sheet nipped by the transfer unit and the fixing unit; and
a control unit configured to control a speed of conveyance of the sheet by the fixing unit based on a detection result from the detection unit,
wherein the detection unit includes:
a first pivoting member configured to be pivoted about a first pivot shaft in a first pivoting direction by the sheet pressing the first pivoting member, the sheet being nipped by the transfer unit and the fixing unit;
a second pivoting member configured to be pivoted about a second pivot shaft that is different from the first pivot shaft in a second pivoting direction by the first pivoting member pressing the second pivoting member; and
a sensor configured to detect a pivotal movement of the second pivoting member.
