1. An accessory mount system for connection to a rear sight block (RSB) of a Kalashnikov pattern firearm, comprising:
a locking insert having a projection extending therefrom in a first direction, the projection configured to be directly received within a first recess of the RSB for connection thereto, wherein the RSB is configured to extend along a longitudinal axis of a barrel of a Kalashnikov pattern firearm;
an adapter body connected to the locking insert and having a projection extending therefrom in a second direction opposite the first direction, the projection of the adapter body being adapted to be received within a second recess of the RSB for connection thereto, the first and second directions extending along the longitudinal axis; and
a mount body connected to the adapter body and having an accessory interface adapted to connect to an accessory, wherein the mount body is configured to extend over a receiver cover of the Kalashnikov pattern firearm.
