A Lactobacillus casei producing short-chain fatty acids, named LC89 and deposited in the China General Microbiological Culture Collection Center, with the deposit number of CGMCC NO.15409; wherein the short-chain fatty acid is acetic acid, propionic acid, butyric acid, valeric acid and caproic acid; and wherein a yield of acetic acid is 195.00±0.14 mmol/L, a yield of propionic acid is 7.97±0.07 mmol/L, a yield of butyric acid is 26.92±0.23 mmol/L, a yield of valeric acid is 3.01±0.05 mmol/L, and a yield of caproic acid is 1.48±0.03 mmol/L.
