1. An image forming system comprising:
an image forming portion configured to form an image on a recording material;
a casing provided with the image forming portion and including a top surface;
a reading unit including a transparent portion on which an original is placed and a reading device configured to read an image of the original placed on the transparent portion;
an openable portion configured to open and close the reading unit between in a closed state and an open state;
an operating unit movably mounted on plural positions of the top surface and configured to receive an operation by a user for performing image formation by the image forming portion;
a cable configured to connect the casing and the operating unit and transmit an electric signal between the casing and the operating unit;
a cable accommodating portion provided in the top surface with respect to a vertical direction along a first direction from a rear surface toward a front surface of the image forming system and configured to accommodate the cable; and
an opening provided on the top surface and through which the cable accommodated in the cable accommodating portion is led out to an outside of the cable accommodating portion,
wherein the opening is positioned between the front surface and a center of the openable portion with respect to the first direction in a case where the openable portion is in the closed state.
