1. A method performed by a service communication proxy (SCP) in a communication system, the method comprising:
transmitting, to a network repository function (NRF), a network function (NF) register request message including an SCP profile of the SCP; and
receiving, from the NRF, an NF register response message including a result of a registration for the SCP,
wherein the SCP profile includes an NF type set to type SCP, an NF identifier of the SCP, and NF information associated with at least one NF served by the SCP.
