1. A bone conduction implant, comprising:
a bone fixture including a male screw section configured to screw into a skull; and
an abutment configured to be attached to the bone fixture,
wherein the abutment includes a first exterior surface diameter lying on a first plane normal to a longitudinal axis of the bone conduction implant that is greater than a minimum outer diameter of the bone fixture lying on a second plane parallel to the first plane, wherein the abutment includes a second exterior surface diameter lying on a third plane parallel to the first plane, wherein the second exterior surface diameter is the same as the first exterior surface diameter, and
wherein the abutment is configured for a male-female coupling with an operationally removable component, the male coupling portion of the coupling being established by the abutment, and
the abutment includes a skin interfacing surface that has a constant outer diameter.
