1. A coated seed having an enhanced seedling growth rate comprising:
a seed; and
a coating on the seed comprising a source of sugar and a seed grind formed from a ground seed, wherein the seed grind is present in an amount of at least 100 grams (g) of seed grind per kilogram (kg) of seed to increase available seed components required for a seedling to grow to enhance the seedling growth.

20. A method of growing seedlings at an enhanced rate comprising:
planting a coated seed comprising a seed and a coating on the seed in soil to form a planted seed, the coating comprising a source of sugar and a seed grind formed from ground seed in an amount of at least 100 grams (g) of the seed grind per kilogram (kg) of the seed to enhance growth of a seedling growing from the coated seed; and
allowing the coated seed to grow into a seedling at an enhanced rate.
