1. A pennycress seed comprising a loss-of-function mutation in at least one endogenous pennycress gene encoding the polypeptide of SEQ ID NO: 6 or an allelic variant thereof, wherein said loss-of-function mutation reduces expression of said polypeptide and/or reduces enzymatic activity of the polypeptide of SEQ ID NO: 6 or said allelic variant thereof, wherein said allelic variant of SEQ ID NO: 6 has at least 99% sequence identity to SEQ ID NO: 6, and wherein said seed exhibits a reduction in sinigrin content in comparison to the sinigrin content of a control seed which lacks said loss-of-function mutation.
