1. A method for low density parity check (LDPC) encoding performed by a transmitting device in a communication system, the method comprising:
identifying a code rate;
identifying a size of a data block;
identifying a base matrix as one of a first base matrix and a second base matrix based on the size of the data block and the code rate;
identifying a block size (Z) for lifting based on the size of the data block;
identifying an H matrix based on the base matrix and the block size (Z); and
performing the LDPC encoding of at least part of the data block based on the base matrix,
wherein the base matrix is identified as the second base matrix in case that the code rate is smaller than or equal to a first code rate threshold,
wherein in case that the size of the data block is smaller than or equal to a first data block size threshold and larger than a second data block size threshold, the base matrix is identified as the second base matrix in case that the code rate is smaller than or equal to a second code rate threshold,
wherein the second code rate threshold is larger than the first code rate threshold, and
wherein in case that the size of the data block is smaller than or equal to the first data block size threshold and larger than the second data block size threshold, the base matrix is identified as the first base matrix in case that the code rate is larger than the second code rate threshold.
