1. A projector comprising:
an image forming panel;
a projection lens that projects an image on the image forming panel onto a projection surface;
a casing to which the projection lens is attached;
a shift mechanism that shifts the projection lens with respect to the image forming panel; and
a correction section,
the projection lens comprising:
a mirror that bends an optical axis;
a first optical system disposed on an image forming panel side with respect to the mirror, the optical axis of the first optical system intersecting with the image forming panel;
a second optical system including the mirror and disposed on a projection surface side;
a rotation mechanism that holds the first optical system rotatably around the optical axis of the first optical system with respect to the casing; and
a sensor that detects a rotation angle of the first optical system by the rotation mechanism with respect to the casing,
wherein, in a case where the shift mechanism shifts the projection lens, the correction section controls a shift amount of the projection lens in a vertical direction with respect to the image forming panel, based on the rotation angle detected by the sensor.
