1. A refrigerator comprising:
a cabinet having a storage chamber;
a door connected to the cabinet and configured to open and close at least a portion of the storage chamber;
a door opening device configured to open the door; and
a controller configured to control the door opening device,
wherein the door opening device comprises:
a driving motor,
a push rack that is configured to transfer power from the driving motor and that is configured to move between a first position and a second position, the push rack comprising a rack gear configured to transfer the power from the driving motor,
a rack cover that is disposed at a distal end of the push rack and that is configured to contact at least one of the cabinet or the door,
a magnetic field generation device disposed at the rack cover and configured to generate a magnetic field, and
a sensor that faces the magnetic field generation device and that is disposed at a position adjacent to a front surface of the cabinet or a rear surface of the door, and
wherein the controller is configured to;
control the driving motor based on the sensor,
control the driving motor to move the push rack from the first position to the second position, and
control the driving motor to move the push rack from the second position to the first position, the controller being configured to control the driving motor to move the push rack from the second position to the first position based on the at least one of the cabinet or the door being spaced apart from the rack cover.
