1. An air conditioner for a vehicle, comprising:
a compressor configured to compress and discharge a refrigerant;
a heating unit that includes a heating heat exchanger configured to condense a high-pressure refrigerant discharged from the compressor during a heating operation for heating a space to be air conditioned, and to heat ventilation air supplied to the space to be air conditioned using the high-pressure refrigerant as a heat source;
an outside air heat exchange unit that includes an outside air heat exchanger configured to absorb heat from outside air during the heating operation;
a wind speed regulation unit configured to regulate a wind speed of air supplied to the outside air heat exchanger; and
a controller including a memory and at least one processor configured to perform, as a defrosting operation of defrosting the outside air heat exchanger, a dry defrosting mode for evaporating and removing frost adhering to the outside air heat exchanger in a state where the outside air is at a low temperature, wherein
the controller includes
a melting control unit configured to perform a melting-defrosting to melt the frost adhering to the outside air heat exchanger in the dry defrosting mode,
a dry control unit configured to perform a dry defrosting in which at least one of an amount of heat in a predetermined range or a wind speed regulated in a predetermined range by the wind speed regulation unit is supplied to residual water adhering to the outside air heat exchanger due to melting of frost in the melting-defrosting to dry the residual water, and
a dry completion determination unit configured to determine whether drying of the residual water in the outside air heat exchanger is completed by the dry defrosting, and
the controller terminates the defrosting operation in the dry defrosting mode when the dry completion determination unit determines that the drying of the residual water is completed.
