1. A carbon dioxide capture facility for removing carbon dioxide from ambient air, comprising:
at least one array, comprising:
at least one pump; and
a plurality of gas-liquid contactors arranged adjacent to each other, each gas-liquid contactor of the plurality of gas-liquid contactors comprising:
a structural framework;
a packing material supported by the structural framework and defining a plurality of flow passages that permit the ambient air to flow therethrough;
a fan supported by the structural framework and rotatable about a fan axis to flow the ambient air through the plurality of flow passages; and
a liquid distribution system supported by the structural framework and comprising a plurality of distribution pipes in fluid communication with the pump, the plurality of distribution pipes configured to distribute a liquid having a capacity to absorb carbon dioxide over the packing material, the liquid configured to flow over the packing material and contact the carbon dioxide in the ambient air flowing through the plurality of flow passages; and
a recycling system configured to receive the liquid from the packing material of the at least one array and regenerate the liquid.
