11. A method, comprising:
by a vehicle to anything (V2X) user equipment (UE):
attaching, to a radio access network (RAN) element containing a V2X function, wherein attachment to the RAN element comprises generating a request for V2X service authorization for transmission to the V2X function in the RAN element;
sending, to a V2X function of the RAN element, the request for V2X service authorization, wherein the request for V2X service authorization comprises a list of radio access technologies (RATs) supported by the V2X UE;
receiving, in response to the request, an authorization response including a mapping of a plurality of V2X application categories to V2X radio access technologies (RATs), wherein association of a V2X application with a V2X application category of the plurality of V2X application categories is based on a provider service identifier (PSID) associated with the V2X application, wherein the mapping provides enhanced interoperability among V2X UEs without regard to load balancing operations among the V2X RATs, and wherein the mapping of the plurality of V2X application categories to V2X RATs is done without regard to any network load values;
storing, in response to receiving the authorization response, the mapping;
generating data of the V2X application for transmission to a different V2X UE;
selecting, based on the mapping, a first V2X RAT for the V2X application; and
encoding the data for transmission to the different V2X UE via the first V2X RAT.
