1. A method of video processing, comprising:
receiving, from a bitstream, pictures associated with a plurality of views, the bitstream including a multiview view position supplemental enhancement information (SEI) message, the multiview view position SEI message indicating (i) a number of the plurality of views, (ii) a number of horizontal view positions, and (iii) horizontal view position information indicating a horizontal order of the plurality of views;
decoding the pictures associated with the plurality of views;
determining, from the multiview view position SEI message in the bitstream, positions of the plurality of views based on the horizontal view position information; and
reordering the pictures based on the positions of the plurality of views,
wherein a format rule of the bitstream specifies that the multiview view position SEI message is not contained in a scalable nesting SEI message.
