1. A secondary battery electrode binder comprising a carboxyl group-containing polymer or salt thereof, wherein
the carboxyl group-containing polymer or salt thereof contains a structural unit derived from a monomer represented by general formula (1) and a structural unit derived from an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer not represented by general formula (1),
the structural unit derived from the monomer represented by general formula (1) is contained in an amount of from 0.1 mass % to 20 mass % of total structural units of the carboxyl group-containing polymer or salt thereof, and
the structural unit derived from an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer not represented by general formula (1) is contained in an amount of from 50 mass % to 99.9 mass % of the total structural units of the carboxyl group-containing polymer or salt thereof:
