1. A wearable medical module for embedding within a medical dressing over a wound on a body surface of a patient, comprising:
a housing forming a receptacle having a lower opening configured to face the wound, wherein the housing comprises a flange configured to be embedded within the medical dressing;
a camera sensor, battery, and wireless antenna sized and shaped to be disposed in the receptacle;
a cover disposed over the lower opening and having an aperture aligned with the camera sensor so that the camera sensor has a field of view of the wound through the aperture; and
a support configured to extend between the housing and the body surface of the patient so as to maintain a distance between the camera sensor and the wound on the body surface;
wherein the camera sensor is configured to generate image data regarding the wound without removal of the medical dressing, and wherein the wireless antenna is configured to transmit the image data.
