1. A method for responsive noise cancelation override, the method comprising:
providing audio content to a personal listening device for output to a listener while the personal listening device is in a noise cancelation mode;
receiving microphone signals and/or sensor data of at least one aspect of an environment of the listener, including detecting respective loudness levels of individual noises of multiple external noises;
determining that the microphone signals and/or the sensor data include at least one attention feature, wherein one of the at least one attention feature is associated with a listener characteristic and another of the at least one attention feature is associated with an environmental characteristic;
identifying that a particular external noise of the one or more external noises requires attention of the listener, based, at least in part, on the at least one attention feature by, at least in part:
identifying that the particular external noise has a loudness level that is above the detected respective loudness levels of the other multiple external noises by a comparative threshold volume level; and
deactivating the noise cancelation mode based, at least in part on identifying the attention requiring noise.
