1. An immersive video encoding method, comprising:
setting basic view images among input images corresponding to multiple views;
generating an atlas image using the basic view images;
performing encoding on the atlas image; and
generating metadata about an encoded atlas image,
wherein the atlas image includes a texture atlas and a depth atlas,
the depth atlas is split into multiple main blocks,
the metadata includes information indicating whether the corresponding main block is to be split,
when the information indicates that the corresponding main block is to be split, the corresponding main block is split into two or more sub-blocks.
