1. An information system comprising:
a data storage device comprising a central metadata repository, wherein the central metadata repository is configured to communicate with a network environment and selectively retrieve a metadata inventory of the network environment, wherein the network environment has at least one network environment system and at least one network environment domain, and wherein the central metadata repository stores an integrated context representation comprising each of a real-time temporal context, a historical context, and a meta context associated with the metadata inventory; and
a first software defined network device, wherein the first software defined network device operates as a machine learning module and communicates with the central metadata repository to selectively retrieve the integrated context representation, the machine learning module being configured to provide the retrieved integrated context representation as a first input to a second software defined network device configured to operate as a reasoning module to develop a reasoning model configured to associate a reasoning concept obtained by the reasoning module with the integrated context representation, wherein the reasoning model receives a second input to generate the reasoning concept, wherein the reasoning concept comprises a natural language query, wherein the reasoning model is configured to provide a data quality mapping that is based on the natural language query, wherein the reasoning model is further configured to provide a metadata whiteboard, wherein the reasoning model and the integrated context representation is made available as a second and a third input, respectively to a third software defined network device acting as an agent configured to communicate with the network environment, wherein the agent is further configured to retrieve the integrated context representation from the central metadata repository and the reasoning model from the reasoning module, and to develop an action based on both the integrated context representation and the reasoning model, wherein the agent comprises a data feed in communication with the data quality mapping and a metadata whiteboard, wherein the agent implements the action within the network environment, wherein the action results in an adjusted integrated context representation, and wherein the adjusted integrated context representation is decoupled from one or more system or domain specific limitations of the at least one network environment domain.
