1. A method of operating an ice maker appliance, the method comprising:
determining that an ice storage bin of the ice maker appliance is full;
initiating an ice storage mode in response to determining that the ice storage bin is full;
determining, during the ice storage mode, to defrost the ice maker appliance based on a frost collector temperature less than a predetermined frost collector temperature threshold; and
activating, during the ice storage mode, a heater of the ice maker appliance in response to determining to defrost the ice maker appliance.
