1. A method of engineering a permanent dipole coupling between dyes, described by the parameter K, comprising:
coupling two or more of the dyes to form one or more dye aggregates;
tuning an orientation between the two or more dyes within the one or more dye aggregates by controlling a charge transfer of the two or more of the dyes.
