1. A process, comprising:
reacting carbon dioxide (CO2) with a material comprising cyclopropenimine (CPI) moieties to form a product; and
generating metal carbonates, wherein the generating comprises forming a reaction mixture comprising an aqueous solution of metal cations and the product.
