A protective cover for a support beam, comprising a cover body and one or more deflecting elements for deflecting material away from the support beam, wherein the cover body comprises one or more top portions disposed at intervals along the length of the cover body, wherein at least one protrusion extends between adjacent top portions to guide mineral particles and/or liquids to the deflecting elements.
