1. A process of carbon dioxide (CO2) conversion, comprising:
reacting carbon dioxide (CO2) with a cyclopropenimine (CPI) to activate the CO2;
transferring the activated CO2 to generate a product of the transferring and a conjugate acid of the CPI; and
recovering the CPI from the conjugate acid.
