accessing from storage a subset of captured image frames of the plurality of image frames generated for the live game play of the video game;
entering the rewind mode by automatically switching from displaying the live game play of the video game to displaying the subset of captured image frames in reverse beginning from the current image frame; and
responding to one or more rewind controller inputs by the user configured for controlling the displaying of the subset of captured image frames in the rewind mode.
