1. A drug injection device comprising:
a cartridge configured to hold a volume of a drug;
one or more processors configured to operate in at least an enabled state and a sleep state, wherein the one or more processors are configured to control an operation of the drug injection device while the one or more processors are in the enabled state; and
a sensor disposed in the cartridge, wherein the sensor is in communication with the one or more processors, and is configured to cause the one or more processors to enter the enabled state from the sleep state in response to sensing a stimulus,
wherein the drug injection device is configured to be placed in a package or to be covered at least partially by a cover, wherein the sensor is configured to sense the stimulus when the drug injection device is removed from the package or the cover is removed from the drug injection device.
