1. A method of improving animal production performance, wherein the method comprises administering an animal feed additive to an animal; and wherein the animal feed additive comprises an aspartic acid derivative having a structure represented by the following general formula, or a racemate, stereoisomer, geometric isomer, tautomer, or solvate thereof:

wherein R1 is R1aC(═O)— or H; R2 is R2aC(═O)—; each of R1a and R2a is independently (A)(B)N—(CH2)0-5—, and each of the A and B is independently a C1-C20 alkyl or H; and each of Y and X is independently a C1-C20 alkyl or H.
