1. A system for employing multiple wavelength modes and steganographic image location to perform document authentication, the system comprising:
one or more processors and media storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause operations comprising:
obtaining text on a document and a location associated with a steganographic image on the document, the steganographic image being among a plurality of steganographic images that are printed on the document;
generating a first message authentication code based on the text and a secret key;
determining, based on a date printed on the document, a first wavelength mode corresponding to a first wavelength range to use with a scanner to scan the document;
obtaining, via the scanner, a second message authentication code based on (i) the location and (ii) the scanner scanning the steganographic image using the first wavelength mode corresponding to the first wavelength range; and
authenticating the document based on a determination that the first message authentication code corresponds to the second message authentication code.
