1. A waveguide assembly comprising:
an electrical circuit arrangement;
a dielectric waveguide having a longitudinal axis; and
a waveguide transition positioned between the electrical circuit arrangement and the dielectric waveguide for the transmission of an electromagnetic wave between the electrical circuit arrangement and the dielectric waveguide, the waveguide transition having a first electrically conductive plate and a second electrically conductive plate, and the first electrically conductive plate and the second electrically conductive plate are arranged between the electrical circuit arrangement and the dielectric waveguide and are offset from one another in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the dielectric waveguide, and wherein the first electrically conductive plate is a conductive metallized area of the circuit arrangement, and wherein the circuit arrangement for exciting the first electrically conductive plate has an electrical line to transmit the electromagnetic wave; and wherein
the second electrically conductive plate is in contact with an end face of the dielectric waveguide, said end face of the dielectric waveguide facing the electrical circuit arrangement.
