1. A method comprising:
identifying, by the device, a threshold for one or more metrics of operation of a first one or more clients of a plurality of clients using a software update, the threshold is to be satisfied before the device is to provide the software update to a second one or more clients of the plurality of clients;
providing, by the device, the software update to the first one or more clients to cause each of the first one or more clients to execute the software update;
receiving, by the device, the one or more metrics of one or more predetermined function calls from each of the first one or more clients;
determining, by the device based at least on the one or more metrics, that the threshold is satisfied; and
providing, by the device responsive to determining that the threshold is satisfied, the software update to the second one or more clients to cause each of the second one or more clients to execute the software update,
wherein the one or more metrics reported by each client of the first one or more clients using the software update are from invocations of the one or more predetermined function calls associated with the software update.
