1. A computer-implemented method, comprising:
applying, by a system operatively coupled to a processor component, a rotary tone pulse to a qubit during application of a gate, wherein the rotary tone pulse is at a frequency that is stark-shifted based on an off-resonant tone pulse, and wherein the qubit is a target qubit, a control qubit, or another qubit; and
applying, by the system, a cross-resonance tone pulse to the control qubit during the application of the gate.
