1. A photonic interconnect system comprising:
a first photonic integrated circuit (PIC) comprising a first polarization locker;
a second PIC comprising a second polarization locker;
an optical fiber configured to optically couple the first and second PICs to one another bi-directionally; and
control circuitry configured to control the first and second polarization lockers, wherein controlling the first and second polarization lockers comprises:
setting one of the first and second polarization lockers to an active configuration while setting the other of the first and second polarization lockers to a passive configuration.
