1. An aircraft navigation system comprising:
a user interface configured to display at least one of an alert, an initial navigational route and an alternate navigational route;
a sensor for detecting a heading of an aircraft, an altitude of the aircraft and a velocity of the aircraft;
a memory configured for storing information indicative of a noise limit for a geographical location; and
a processor configured to determine the initial navigational route, to determine an initial flight maneuver within the initial navigational route, to estimate a sound level at the geographical location in response to an overlap between a first predicted pressure contour generated before the initial flight maneuver and a second predicted pressure contour generated after the initial flight maneuver, and to determine an alternate flight maneuver in response to the sound level exceeding the noise limit for the geographical location, to generate a control signal to modify the velocity of the aircraft in response to the sound level exceeding the noise limit, and to provide the alternate navigational route in response to the alternate flight maneuver and an alert to the user interface.
