1. An amine functionalized zeolite comprising:
a microporous framework comprising a plurality of micropores having diameters of less than or equal to 2 nm, wherein the microporous framework comprises at least silicon atoms and oxygen atoms;
a plurality of mesopores having diameters of greater than 2 nm and less than or equal to 50 nm;
isolated terminal primary amine functionalities bonded to silicon atoms of the microporous framework, wherein each isolated terminal primary amine functionality comprises a nitrogen atom bound to two hydrogen atoms and bound to a single silicon atom of the microporous framework, wherein each isolated terminal primary amine functionality is not adjacent to another amine functionality, and wherein amine functionalities are adjacent when bound to the silicon atoms of the microporous framework that are directly bonded through a bridging oxygen atom; and
silazane functionalities wherein the nitrogen atom of the silazane functionalities bridges two silicon atoms of the microporous framework;
wherein the amine functionalized zeolite is a ZSM-5 zeolite.
